Emergency services will now be available at 112 instead of 100: ERSS services launched in Bhatkal
11:32AM Sun 2 May, 2021
Bhatkal: 2 May 2021 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) In the event of an emergency, such as a fire or an accident, dialing 112 can provide access to a variety of emergency services.
You no longer need to dial 100 to contact the police. Now all you have to do is dial 112, send a message to 112, or send an email to erss112ktk@ksp.gov.in.
However, if anyone requires emergency care or other health-related facilities, they must call the Department of Health or the 108 Ambulance Service.
The service was inaugurated today at Bhatkal Town Police Station by DYSP Baili Appa of the Bhatkal sub-division, who showed green flags to five jeeps, three scooters, and two bikes. Following that, these vehicles circled the city in an attempt to raise public awareness about the issue.
According to DYSP Bhatkal Baili Appa, all five jeeps have been assigned to the Bhatkal sub-division, with one vehicle each for Bhatkal Town and Bhatkal Suburban Police Stations, as well as Murdeshwar and Bhatkal. One vehicle has been assigned to the Manki police station, one to the Honnavar police station, one to the Kumta police station, and one to the Gokarna police station. Similarly, only five two-wheelers have been allocated to Bhatkal, three of which have been handed over to women police and two motorbikes have been handed over to ASI. Patrolling in different locations, the nearest vehicle will be sent to the scene as soon as a call is received.
