Eid holidays for UAE public and private sectors announced

Public sector workers in UAE will have a five-day holiday on Eid Al Fitr from July 27 to July 31, the office of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced on Sunday.
Based on the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Hussain Ebrahim Al Hammadi, chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources issued the circular to announce the holidays.
The announcement means public sector staff will get nine consecutive days off, including two weekends.
Private sector employees will get a two-day break for Eid Al Fitr this time. The UAE Ministry of Labour has declared that the Eid Al Fitr holiday for all private sector employees will be on the first and second days of Shawwal. Work will resume on the third day of Shawwal.
Astronomers have been quoted as saying that the first day of Shawwal will likely fall on July 28, a Monday.
