"Drugs can destroy your lives, stay away from it" Bhatkal Dy.SP Valentine D'Souza's advise to students

Bhatkal 13 December 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) "Drugs is something that can destroy the lives of students, you should stay away from it and also urge your friends to keep away from it" Bhatkal Dy.SP Valentine D'Souza advised a group of students at Shams English Medium School Bhatkal, here on December 12 Wednesday. He was speaking as the chief guest at the school's annual sports day, at its Syed Ali campus here on Jamia Abad road Bhatkal. Stressing upon the need of fighting the social evil of drugs D'souza added that "When I was posted as the ACP of CCB in Mangaluru, I had busted several drugs rackets where innocent students were targeted to to get addicted to drugs, because for the dealers its their business, they don't care about your lives or careers, and amidst this you become the victim and lose everything". CLICK HERE to see more photos from the sports day at Shams English Medium High School "I am happy that here in Bhatkal we don't come across much cases of drugs, its not like there are no drugs related cases, it is there but comparatively the numbers are very satisfying. We (Police department) are working towards bringing these numbers to zero, which need public and students' co-operation" D'Souza added. Speaking about the sports, D'Souza wished all the participants luck for the games, they were about to play later in the day and asserted that they need not bother about the results as winning and losing are part and parcel of any game and that they should focus on correcting their mistakes. CLICK HERE to see more photos from the sports day at Shams English Medium High School Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem General Secretary Altaf Kharuri, National Level Kabaddi player and referee Shridhar Naik also addressed the students and lauded the efforts of school management for organising activities like Temples and churches visits for the students to promote national integrity, and added that such activities plays important role is peacekeeping of the society. Islamic Welfare Society and Shams school board chairman Qadir Meeran Patel, president over the event. Earlier in the event, School Head Master Raza Manvi welcomed and introduced the guests, while campus secretary Talha Siddibapa presented vote of thanks towards the conclusion of inaugural event of sports day. Students also presented marched pass in their respective school's houses before the beginning of the event, where Dy.SP gave the students the salute of honor, as a sign of appreciation. D'Souza also lauded the march pass in his address.
