Driver knocks down two women on Bunder Road, flees

June 21, 2014 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In another case of rash and negligent driving, an 18-year-old woman suffered injuries after she was knocked down by a TATA Ace mini-truck at around 7 pm Saturday evening. The unidentified driver fled the scene after the incident, sources informed. The injured, identified as Farhana (18), daughter of Usman Sheikh, was rushed to the state-run hospital in Bhatkal where she was provided crucial first-aid treatment and was later shifted to Kundapur. Eye witnesses have noted down the vehicle registration number and have informed the police. Efforts are under way to trace the absconding vehicle. - ARF
