"Do not grant leaves to sub-ordinates till the end of Monsoon" Deshpande directs District Administration

Karwar 30 June 2018: Revenue and Skill Development Minister and the MLA of Haliyal Taluk RV Deshpande on Saturday chaired a meeting at Zilla Panchayat office at Karwar and reviewed the damages caused by rainfall across the district. Deshpande in the meeting, directed senior officers of various departments of Karwar district not to grant leaves to their subordinates and not to relieve those who have been transferred until situation created by heavy rainfall comes under control. The Minister also directed HESCOM officers to repair electric poles and electric transformers immediately to ensure power supply to every houses of the district. Deshpande also assured of providing aid from the government in reconstructing the houses which has 75% or more damages. He further added that the beneficiaries of housing facilities by the government cannot avail another for the next 20 years. However, if the beneficiary is poor and is unable to fix the  damaged house due to natural disasters will be an exception. Each district will be sanctioned funds of Rs. 5 crores to recover the damages caused by the monsoon. Moreover, the Tashildars of each Taluk will be provided with the fund of about 20 lac each to compensate the damages of rainfall in their respective Taluk. the Minister added. "Until the end of the monsoon, all officials should be at the center and respond immediately to the public's grievances and contact with the representatives" Deshpande further instructed the officials. The minister also directed officials, including Deputy Commissioner, have to regularly patrol and tour their respective jurisdictions and not to grant any holidays to their subordinates till the end of monsoon.
