Dialysis unit at Bhatkal Taluka Hospital completes one year; records highest number of dialysis cycles in District

Bhatkal 13 January 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Dialysis centre at the Bhatkal Taluka Government Hospital completed one year of free services on January 13, Sunday. A formal event was also organised at the hospital in this regard wherein a cake was also cut to celebrate the occasion.
The dialysis centre reportedly has recorded highest number of dialysis cycles in the district among Taluka hospitals with 2039 cycles completed in a year, peeking over 1900 cycles by Honnavar Taluka Hospital. The centre is run by BRS Health and Reasearch Institute. Earlier the Rotary Club had sponsored the dialysis unit in the hospital which was taken off when it was sanctioned by the government, the rotary was also running the unit successfully with good feedback from the patients.
Dialysis centre in-charge Abdul Basit on this occasion thanked all the staffs for their support and co-operation and also thanked the patients for showing trust and respect towards the doctors and fellow patients.
Dr. Savita Kamat, AMO Bhatkal Taluka Hospital, during her address on the occasion asked the patients to report any grievances and complaints directly to her, and also asked for suggestions and feedback to the patients.
"People here get free services of dialysis cycles, whereas earlier they used to spend thousands of rupees to visit and get the process done in Manipal and elsewhere. Its a great unit and service for the people of Bhatkal with excellent records" Dr. Savita added.
The patients present during the event expressed complete satisfaction with the services at the centre and also gave more suggestions and feedback, which Dr. Savita Kamat took note of and assured of action.
Dr. Laxmish, Nazeer Kashimji, Irshad Siddiqua and others were present during the event as the guest of honors.
