If you are driving in Abu Dhabi and get involved in a minor traffic accident, remember to move your vehicle on the side of the road or else you might have to cough up Dh500.
Starting December 1, the Abu Dhabi Police will impose a fine of Dh500 on motorists who block traffic after being involved in a minor traffic accident.
The decision comes in line with Article No. 98 of 2017, and is based on the ministerial resolution No. (178) 'obstructing traffic in any way'.
Brigadier General Ahmed Abdullah Al Shehhi, deputy director of the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police, called on drivers whose vehicles are involved in minor traffic accidents, sudden breakdowns or tyre bursts to move them on the side of the road and avoid blocking the traffic.
