BANGALORE: After facing humiliating defeat at the hands of Congress in the just-concluded bypolls to LokSabha and the Upper House, the grand plans of alliance among opposition parties appears to be doubtful for the 2014 parliamentary elections. All the three prime opposition parties — JD(S), BJP and KJP — aligned to defeat Congress in the Mandya and Bangalore Rural LokSabha seats and also for the Upper House bypolls from Mysore, Chitradurga and Hubli. But the temporary understanding achieved little success as the Congress drubbed these parties with huge majority. Anil Kumar M, TNN Aug 27, 2013, 07.36PM IST
