Deadly accident near Circuit House on NH-66, 1 killed, 1 injured

03 Aug 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In a collision between a bike and a truck at around 1:00 pm today near Circuit House, a woman riding on the bike died and a youth got injured. The deceased has been identified as Sarah Sultana Moosa Khorshe (33), a resident of Firdaus Nagar Jamiabad Road and the injured has been identified as Salman (26). As per eye witnesses, the bike riders were travelling on the highway when the truck rammed the bike from behind. As a result, the woman fell off the bike on the road. Hearing the uproar from the nearby crowd, the truck driver got afraid and reversed the truck due to which the woman came under the wheels of the truck. As a consequence of this, the lower half portion of the woman was severely injured. Immediately after the accident, they were rushed to Government Hospital Bhatkal and provided crucial first aid treatment. Thereafter, the woman was being taken to Mangalore but she died on the way. The youth injured in the accident has been admitted in Kundapur. This case has been registered at Bhatkal police station.
