Dead body recovered from Bhatkal bunder; suicide suspected

Bhatkal - 13 Sep 2012: A dead body was recovered from the sea near Bhatkal bunder yesterday. The man was seen floating on the sea surface and was brought to the coast with the help of coastal security police. The deceased has been identified as Usman Qadir Beary (53), a fish dealer from Gudihittal Shirali.

Police rushed to the spot after receiving the news and a case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station and the investigation is going on.

Man commits suicide in Chowtani

A man identified as Nagraj Siddappa Naik (40) from Chowtani committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling in a godown here in Chowtani today morning. After receiving the news, PSI Mr Prakash Devadiga visited the place and a case has been registered at Bhatkal town police station.
