DC directs authorities to speed up NH-66 expansion work

Jan 08, 2016 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Karwar: In a press release held recently, Uttar Kannada district’s Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh has directed the authorities to speed up the pace of the Kundapur-Goa NH66 highway expansion work and complete the Land Acquisition for construction of highway at the earliest. After performing a review in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office of the work completed as of date on the four-lane highway, he told media persons that acquisition of 566 hectares of land is still pending. He also assured that land acquisition will be done legally and landholders who are losing their land because of four-lane expansion would be provided appropriate compensation. It may be noted that in the Uttar Kannada district, Kundapur-Goa NH66 road is being upgraded and converted into a four-lane road. - ARF
