Dandeli Ajith Nayak murder: Bhatkal lawyers boycott court proceedings, demands immediate arrest of killers

Bhatkal 29 July 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Condemning the assassination of senior lawyer Ajith Nayak of Dandeli, the lawyers Association of Bhatkal boycotted proceedings at JMFC court here on Saturday. An emergency meeting was also called on Saturday by the Association and it was decided to write a letter to the Superintendents of Police(SP) seeking immediate arrest of the culprits. Lawyers Association President Kamalakar Bairumane, vice-president Pandu Naik, Ganesh Devadiga, MH Naik, Senior lawyers including RR Shrestri, JD Naik, KH Naik, Santosh Naik, Victor Gomes, JD Bhat and other lawyers were present during the meeting. Ajith Nayak, who was also the president of Dandeli Horatha Samethi, and Dandeli block Congress president was attacked and killed with lethal weapons in his office on Saturday, reportedly by unidentified men.
