Dalit Sangarsha Samiti submits memorandum to Bhatkal Dy.SP against Gokarna Police

Bhatkal 07 June 2018: The Karnataka Dalit Sangarsha Samiti submitted a memorandum to the Bhatkal DySP against the alleged irresponsible behavior of Gokarna Police of not taking action against accused against whom a case of abusing a Dalit was registered in the police station. Ganapati Huliyappa Aagera and his family, were abused and were attacked by sword by Narayana Gaovkar at Aageri colony of Burgi Gram Panchayat limits of Kumta Taluka, following which a case was registered at Gokarna police station, but even though they had video footage as the proof, the Gokarna police initiated no action the accused. The district administrator of the Samiti met DySP of Bhatkal regarding the issue and submitted a Memorandum stating that although, all the criminal actions and abusing a Dalit family by Narayan was clearly recorded in a video footagae no actions were taken against them. They also alleged that The Gokarna police are helping the accused negate the case by registering Non cognizable(NC) case. The Bhatkal Dy SP Valentine D'Souza accepted the memorandum and assured of looking into the matter. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
