Cycle rally in Bhatkal by Rotary club to promote healthy lifestyle

Bhatkal 25 January 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal Rotary Club will organise a cycle rally in Bhatkal on January 27, to promote healthy lifestyles among general public and to raise awareness against vehicular pollution and sedentary lifestyle.
The rally which will be organised in association with Kross cycles and Godwin cycle trading co. Bhatkal, will commence at 9.30 am on Sunday from Bhatkal Taluka stadium and will pass through various parts of the town including Nawayath colony, Shamsuddin Circle, Sultan street, Marikatta, Car street and old bus stand before dispersing at IAUHS ground near TMC complex here.
The rally has been sub-titled 'Burn fat not oil', both to promote healthy lifestyle and to raise awareness against the pollution caused by motor vehicles. Anyone above the age of 12 years can participate in the rally.
A press release issued by Bhatkal Rotary club added "Cycling among youth for commuting has reduced considerably due to the rampant usage of motorised bikes, which ultimately has resulted in increased vehicular pollution and sedentary lifestyles, especially among the youth. Hence the proposed bicycle rally aims at addressing these concerns by creating awareness about the benefits and advantages of using bicycles, particularly among younger generation".
The organisers have further request people especially the youth to participate in large numbers, and to assemble at the Bhatkal Taluka Stadium at 9.00 am on Sunday.
