Crackdown on drugs continues in Karwar; Ganja worth Rs. 1.8 lac seized while being smuggled on bus, four arrested

Karwar 17 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Excise officials on Sunday arrested four men including driver of the bus as they allegedly tried to smuggle Ganja weighing 7 kg in a private bus here at Majali check post of Karwar-Goa Border.
The detained have been Dirver Anson D’souza of Mangaluru, Ummar Kashim, Abdul Sajid Muhammed and Abdul Kareem of Kasargod.
As per sources, The excise officals on Sunday working on a credible information conducted a raid on a private bus at Majali check post and seized about 7 kg of Ganja worth Rs. 1.8 lac.
Immidately the officials arrested all the four accused and also seized the bus worth Rs.30 lacs.
Excise official Satyanarayana Trivedi, Ramesh Biradar, Narayana Swami, M.M. Nayak, Shanoor Jamadhar, Police personnel Ramanath Naik, forest official Mallikarjuna Sunaghar and others were part of the operation.
