BENGALURU: The Kiss of Love event, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on Sunday, was put off following an order from a magistrate court, directing city police to take strict action against the organizers. A petition was filed by K Shivakumar Reddy, president, Sri Rama Sene, Bengaluru unit, and M Vasudev Rao Kashyap, national convener of the Akhil Bharath Hindu Mahasabha, before magistrate-in-charge B Venkatesh, questioning the legality of the protest. The event contravenes Section 294 (a) (obscenity) and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, the petitioners' advocate NP Amrutesh argued. The petition resulted in the court ordering the SHO SJ Park police to take suitable action against the event organizers and report to court on the action taken, if any.
