Cosmos Bhatkal lifts Parshuram Inter-Dist Kabaddi Tournament

Bhatkal - 29 Jan 2012: Cosmos Bhatkal defeated host Parshuram to lift Parshuram Inter-Dist Kabbaddi Tournament by 6 points in a nail-biting finish.

In the semi-finals, Cosmos defeated Kumta while Parshuram over-powered Haliyal to reach the finals.

Prashanth Deshpande inaugurated the tournament.

Nagraj R Moger, Ganesh Naik from Parshuram, and Anil from Kumta honoured with 'Best Kabaddi Player of the Tournament' Award. Manoj Naik of Parshuram (State Level Player) adjudged Best Rider while Pramod (Kumta) declared Best Catcher. Wasif from Cosmos secured Best All Rounder Award. Kumta team clinched 3rd place.

Bhatkal MLA J D Naik, CPI - Shiva Prakash, Irshad Shabulli, Deepak Naik, Krishna Naik, Rajesh Naik, Nazeer Kasimji were among the others present on the stage.

The closing ceremony ended at around 3:30 am. More than 5000 spectators were present.
