Consumer awareness programme held at Government College in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: A consumer awareness programme was jointly organised by Government First Grade College, Bhatkal, and the Federation of Consumer and Voluntary Organizations, Bengaluru.

 

The programme was inaugurated by Somashekhar V.K., founder and executive committee member of Grahak Shakti, a Bengaluru-based non-political consumer organisation, by watering a plant. Addressing the gathering, he stressed the importance of safeguarding consumer rights and said that consumers have the opportunity to raise their grievances with concerned service providers. He urged the public to make effective use of such platforms to resolve issues related to mobile networks and other services in their areas.

 

BSNL official Nagaraj, who attended as the chief guest, explained the various services and facilities offered by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.

 

Presiding over the function, college principal Nagesh Shetty highlighted the importance of consumer awareness, stating that understanding consumer rights plays a key role in everyday life.

 

IQAC coordinator Suresh Metgar, assistant professors Annapa Naik and Mohini Attimani, and Federation member Manoj Murdeshwar were among those present.

 

The programme began with a welcome address by Vaishali G.R., followed by an introduction of guests by Sangeeta Chimmani. Khushi Shetty compered the event, while Dhanraj N.A. proposed the vote of thanks.
