Construction of 110 kv power unit in Bhatkal will reduce frequent power cuts: HESCOM, KPTCL officials inform MLA Sunil Naik

 Bhatkal 28 June 2019: Bhatkal-Honnavar MLA Sunil Naik on Thursday held a meeting with KPTCL and HESCOM officials at HESCOM office in Bhatkal and discussed frequent power-cuts in the town.
Assuring help to the department from the government the MLA urged the officials to resolve the issue at the earliest as it is causing inconvenience to the people of Bhatkal and Honnavar region.
“If there is a problem and we need support from the government, bring it to me, I will see into it. But resolve the issue at the earliest” he told officials during the meeting.
HESCOM official assured the MLA of resolving the matter at the earliest as the Forest Department has permitted them to bring up 110 kv unit on 30 hectare forest land which will resolve the issue. The officials however added that they were waiting for the funds from the government to go ahead with their plan.
“Getting an 110 kv unit here in Bhatkal will mean that in case of power cut or any disruption, we will be able to get temporary power from the Kundapur line” KPTCL officials explained the MLA.
On this occasion ZP member Nagamma Gonda, Honnavar division HESCOM official Vinod Bagwat, Bhatkal HESCOM official Manjunath, officials of HESCOM and KPTCL and others were present during the meeting.
