CM Siddaramaiah says cases against all innocent people will be withdrawn irrespective of religions; slams BJP terming it 'Minority appeasement'

Bengaluru: Karnataka CM Siddaramiah lashed out at the BJP for giving communal color to his circulars which were sent to the police heads regarding the dropping of charges against minorities, he was Speaking to the reporters after launching a pulse polio drive at his home office Krishna in Bengaluru on Sunday, 28 January.
Siddaramiah hit out at state BJP leaders of not looking at the decision as a decision for humanity, but are trying to gain political mileage from the issue.
Earlier, a circular had asked the police heads of the districts to drop minor cases against minorities involved in the incidents of communal clashes.
He further added, cases which are registered against innocent persons irrespective of caste, religion and community would be withdrawn. The BJP had criticized it as 'minority appeasement', by the government ahead of elections and this forced Home Department to issue a revised version which replaced the word 'minorities' by 'all innocent persons" .
We are taking back cases registered against innocent people only, CM clarified.
