Chandrayaan II, India's space mission to Moon in 2018: Jitendra Singh

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Atomic Energy and Space Jitendra Singh on Monday said that India's Space mission to Moon 'Chandrayaan II' will take place in 2018, possibly in the first quarter of the year.
Singh, who was addressing the annual inaugural session of the five-day Asian Conference on Remote Sensing, said India has emerged as the world's frontline nation in the field of Space Technology and this in itself is a glorious vindication of the dream seen by the founding fathers of India's Space programme.
The minister even said that India has emerged as the world's frontline nation in the field of Space Technology.Lauding PM Narendra Modi for his efforts, Singh said, it was during the last three years that India could launch a South Asian Satellite which would be also providing inputs and benefits to the neighbouring countries.
The 38th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing is being held in New Delhi from October 23 to 27.
