New Delhi, Mar 28: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced re-examination for Class X Mathematics Paper and Class XII Economics Paper. The decision by the CBSE for re-conduct examination for these two board exams came after reports that the question papers were leaked. The board has said in a statement that it will announce the dates for both the exams and other details within a week. “The board has taken cognizance of certain happenings in the conduct of certain examinations as are being reported. With the view to uphold the sanctity of the Board Examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the Board has decided to reconduct the examinations in the following subjects. Dates for fresh examinations and the other details shall be hosted on the CBSE website within a week,” CBSE said in its statement today. The CBSE Class XII Economics question paper was reportedly leaked on WhatsApp a day before the exam was to be conducted. A hand written Economics question paper had appeared on a teacher’s WhatsApp, who had then alerted the Board. Reports said the Class X Maths Paper that was conducted today was also leaked on Tuesday night. According to reports, the leaked question paper matched the original paper today and hence, the board has decided to re-conduct the examination. The board had said that it would probe the paper leak. Earlier, there were also reports of Class XII Accountancy paper having been leaked. However, these reports were dismissed by the CBSE as the original question paper did not match the leaked question paper. Source: India.com
