Career guidance cell inaugurated in Bangalore by BMJ Bangalore

Bangalore, 26th April 2012: A Career Guidance and Vocational Training (CGVT) Forum, a first of its kind by Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat (BMJ) was inaugurated by BMJ-Bangalore on Tue, 24th at the SM Yahya Memorial Hostel, Bangalore. SM Syed Khaleel, President Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen was the Chief Guest of the function and Syed Zameer Pasha, I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government, Minority Welfare Department, was the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries on the dais were Mr. Muzammil Kazia, President, BMJ Bangalore, SM Aftab, Vice-President, BMJ Bangalore and Mr. Ibrahim Khattal (Sukri), former President, Murdeshwar Jamaat. The program was attended by about 150 members, which included the executive members of the BMJ, Bhatkally students, Professionals and Businessmen staying in Bangalore.
Mr. Maaz Jukaku, General Secretary BMJ-Bangalore, gave a formal introduction of the CGVT and the objective of forming this forum. The objective of the forum is to give proper guidance in building the career of the students, through seminars, counseling and special workshops, in different areas and to help the students coming for higher studies to find the right nstitution for taking up various Professional and Degree courses. He said that they have come across plenty of candidates who come to Bangalore and join colleges paying exorbitant amount of fees and donations, most of these colleges had nothing more to offer than what Anjuman offers in Bhatkal at a fee less than 1/3rd. Mr. Maaz informed that the BMJ bangalore's site will be functional by may 1st week and all the activities of the BMJ Bangalore will be updated and he requested all those in Bangalore to register at the site. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Zameer Pasha stressed the need of such cell to guide the students as well as those who have completed the studies to find the right placement. He said that the Govt. Of Karnataka too has launched schemes for Career counseling. He said that there are a lot of scholarships from the Minority Department for studies from 1st standard to studies in foreign universities, but he expressed dismay that a huge part of the allocated funds remains unutilised due to lack of applicants. He said that there is need for NGO's, who can guide the people to harvest the benefits offered by the Government.
The students should not only look out for employment but they should dream of becoming employers, they should develop entrepreneur qualities, w as the advice of SM Khaleelur Rahman sahib to the student community. He said that they should be more communicative, be broad minded, keep upgrading their knowledge even after completion of ones studies and give back to the society once you settle in life. He mentioned that any point of time, a community is higher than an individual, and individuals shouldd not take undue advantage of the facilities provided for the community.
