Businessman attempts suicide at Vidhana Soudha

BENGALURU: Tension prevailed at the Kengal Hanumanthaiah gate of the Vidhana Soudha on Saturday after a businessman attempted suicide by consuming poison inside his car. It is said that an MLA had taken Rs 1 crore from him to get some work completed. The police said that around 12.15 pm a businessman Gangadhar, (38) a resident of Hebbal had come to meet the Chief Minister and was waiting nearby Kengal Hanumanthaiah gate. Meanwhile, he consumed poison inside the car and the passersby who noticed it alerted the policemen who rushed him to Mallige Hospital where his condition is said to be critical. "We are waiting for the statement of the victim to take action and preliminary investigation revealed that he has given Rs 1 crore to an MLA to some work done. But the MLA started avoiding him as he failed to fulfil his promise and also did not return his money. Upset over this he had decided to end his life", the police officer added.
