Burqa-clad woman shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’ amid Ram Temple consecration celebrations in Karnataka’s Shivamogga

Bengaluru: A tense situation prevailed for some time in sensitive Shivamogga town on Monday when a burqa-clad woman shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ when hundreds of people chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ The police took her away in the jeep and brought the situation under control.

Hundreds of people had gathered at Shivappa Nayak Circle in Shivamogga to celebrate the consecration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The women were distributing sweets to each other. When suddenly, a woman started abusing PM Modi and shouted ‘Allahu Akbar.’  It is unclear what triggered the woman to raise a slogan amid hundreds of people.

In a video, the woman is seen accusing PM Modi of corruption and blaming the police for supporting him.

“They leave dacoits and raise their hand on us… Do you want me to kill? Do you have any shame? Because of you people, the country has been destroyed. You people are supporting Modi. You don’t know how Modi has cheated you. You will understand it later,” the woman said in the video.

Even as she was speaking, a few people shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ chants and the woman replied with ‘Allahu Akbar.’ The woman was seen carrying a small boy.

Former BJP minister KS Eshwarappa’s son Kanthesh pulled up the police officer at the spot and questioned him why she was not arrested.

The police escorted her to a jeep and took her to the police station.

“When were distributing sweets, the woman suddenly came and questioned us why were we shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ She started abusing us. This is condemnable. I think the woman is not mentally unstable,” one of the celebrating women said.
