BPL set to start today

Six teams from Dubai's Bhatkalli community will take to the pitch in the first ever franchise cricket tournament as the Bhatkal Premier League is set to start from today. With its own team Bhatkallys Sailors, we will bring the latest updates and cricketing action from BPL as teams will play their first match post Jumaa prayers.
Bhatkallys.com will play its first match against the Amtek Tigers as the team will set its sight on the title.Speaking ahead of the first match, Anas Mulla, team captain for Bhatkallys Sailors said, "This is a unlike any other tournament I have played before. All the players are really excited to come together and practice in the nets and we are having a great response."
With 15 players in each team, the tournament will start-off on a league grouping with the matches being played in Ajman. The top two teams from each group will progress into the finals and semi-finals as the winner will take home a cash prize and the championship title.
Shafaat Shabandri, team manager for Bhatkallys Sailors said, "We have put in a lot of effort and our players have shown a lot of commitment both on and off the field. Each player reflects a great deal of passion and we are enjoying the practice sessions."
Matches will be played every Friday for the next three weeks as the group stages will lead into the knockout semi-finals and finals which would be played at the Zabeel Park in Dubai.
