BPL Chairman announces details for BPL 2016 tournament.

September 06, 2015 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Dubai - Preparation for the fifth edition of the immensely popular T20 cricket tournament, Bhatkal Premier League 2016 has begun with the registration for team entry starting from 06th September 2014, BPL Chairman has announced. As three teams from BPL 2015 have been retained, remaining five slots for the BPL 2016 fifth edition are up for grabs. The deadline to the submit the applications for team entry will end on 06th October 2015, following which no entries will be accepted, Spread across five Fridays, the tournament will begin on 22nd  January 2016, with the final scheduled on 19th February 2016. The tournament will be held at Fairgrounds Oval, Dubai Academic City, for the fourth year in a row. “Following the great success of BPL’s four previous editions, we hope to receive more than five entries, but the tournament will be played by eight teams only. So we will go for a draw if we receive more than five entries and the draw will be held to choose the teams on 08th October 2015 at Twin Towers Deira Dubai. The entry forms will be available at Nuha General Trading, Al Ras, against a non-refundable fee of AED 500. Forms can also be collected from BPL GC members Safa KM, Imran Khateeb and Jailani Mohtisham. Forms duly filled should be submitted before the deadline at Nuha General Trading. Registration for players will begin on 10th November 2015  and the deadline to receive the applications will be 25th November 2015. Players should hold employment visa ( Players should provide visa proof before Auction as well as it should stamp on passport before tournament starts.) One of the most popular events of BPL’s annual events, the player auction is scheduled to be held on 18th December 2015 at Deira Twin Tower Function Hall . More than 180 players registered for the tournament last year, with players being grabbed for as high as 153 points. The BPL 2015 was won by Unique Strikers, defeating Tuba Riders and collected winner’s trophy from Former Indian Captain Mohammed Azharuddin.
