Boat capsizes off Bhatkal coast; four fishermen missing, two rescued

Bhatkal: 31 July,25 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Four fishermen have gone missing after a fishing boat capsized in the sea off Bhatkal coast, while two others were rescued and shifted to the Bhatkal government hospital.

The missing fishermen have been identified as Ramakrishna Mogera, Satish Mogera, Ganesh Mogera, and Nishchith Mogera.

 

The rescued persons have been identified as Manohar Mogera, the owner of the boat, and Ram Kharvi, a resident of Belni.

 

According to reports, the group had ventured into the sea for fishing on Wednesday afternoon from Alvekodi in a boat named Mahasathi Gillnet. While at sea, their boat capsized after being hit by strong waves. Two of them were rescued, while four are still untraceable.

 

It is learnt that PSI Veena Chitrapura of the Coastal Security Police transported the rescued fishermen to the Bhatkal government hospital in a department vehicle.
