BMYF's BCL-4 concludes, Sky breezers triumphs trophy

Bhatkal 18 December 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Cricket's annual mega event of Bhatkal, Bhatkal Cricket League (BCL) into it fourth season came to an end on December 18, Tuesday as franchise team Sky Breezers emerged winners of the trophy in the final match beating team Bhatkal United here at Taluka stadium Bhatkal.
The tournament is annually organised by BMYF in a bid to strengthen the relationships and unity among the local youngsters and communities as players from all the communities participate in the tournament who are picked through auctioning.
A good example of execution of the motive of the tournament was on display as about six players in the squad of winning team were non-Muslims, including the icon player of the team Keshav. The owners had earlier added that they had no discriminatory grounds in the team set-up and as it is a team game, every player was valuable to the team, which also defines the efforts of our community to strengthen the ties with the members of other community to promote diversity.
The event that is played over the course of 20 days was played at the Taluka stadium of Bhatkal (formerly known as YMSA ground) with 12 franchise teams participating in the tournament.
During the closing ceremony Jukaku Abdul Majeed and tournament's title sponsor Amin Saifullah along with others were present during the event that was presided over by BMYF President Imtiyaz Udyawar.
