BMYF hosts youth get-together in Bhatkal, call for active role in social change

 

Bhatkal: 07 September,25 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation (BMYF) organised a get-together programme on Saturday at Hotel Royal Oak, where speakers highlighted the crucial role of youth in bringing about social transformation.

 

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Mohammed Kunhi, Manager of Shanthi Prakashan, Mangaluru, said that the strength of youth has always been the driving force of historical change. Recalling examples from the French Revolution to India’s independence struggle, he noted that young people have always been at the forefront of shaping societies.

 

He observed that wealth or social status does not determine a person’s legacy, but morality, compassion, and humanity are what create lasting memories. Stressing the importance of mental well-being, he said that more than physical health, purity of mind and peace of the soul complete human life. Citing World Health Organization (WHO) figures, he pointed out that millions suffer from mental health challenges globally, and added that drug addiction has become a major concern, threatening the future of many young people.

 

The programme was also addressed by former BMYF President Azizur Rahman Nadvi and Tanzeem General Secretary Abdur Raqeeb M.J., among others.

 

The session began with a Qur’an recitation by Nabiq Barmawar. BMYF General Secretary Mubasshir Hallare welcomed the guests, while the event was presided over by Maulana Wasiullah D.F. Nadvi. The proceedings were conducted by Abdul Sami.

 

Several veteran sportsmen from Bhatkal, including Venkatesh Devadiga, Ganesh Naik, Venkataraman Moger, Nazir Kashmiji, Abdul Rauf Naite, Jafar Haidar, Raja Napani, Naeem Motia, Abdul Majeed Ruknuddin, and Afaqoor Kola, were also present on the occasion.
