BMJ-Muscat elections on March 1

Muscat - 27 Feb 2012: Electionstoelect new executives forBMJ- Muscat for the next two-year term will be organized on March 1. Murtuza Ruknuddin, election commissioner for the elections, toldbhatkallys.com. In all 68 nominations have so far been received and the last date for withdrawalisFebruary 25.Polling will be held in Ruwi, Muttrah and Seebfrom 8:00 am to 12 midnight. The elections will be held for 25 seats.

The BMJ-Muscat held its annual Jalsa on Friday in Ruwi. Aftab Kola, senior vice-president, BMJ-Muscat, welcomed, Qamar Merchant, general secretary,presented the report, Ibrahim Khalil Gawai, auditor, presented the accounts and Shabber Mohtesham proposed a vote of thanks. Salim Sada, president, delivered the presidential address. Qiraat was recited by visiting scholar, Nayamatulah Askiri.ShabandriPatel Shafi,nazim of Jamia Islamia, also spoke briefly. Dinner was served prior to the Jalsa. About 275 people attended.
