DAMMAM - BMJ Eastern Province conferred Lifetime Achievement Award to Janab Syed Abubaker Syed Hassaina (popularly known as Western Syed Abubaker Bhao) for his selfless service to the Bhatkali community spanning a period of over 25 years.
Abubaker Bhao aged over 60 years landed on the soil of Saudi Arabia way back in 1981 in the early period of Gulf Boom. Stage shy Abubaker bhao served the Jamaat since its inception around 22 years ago and had discharged all the duties of office bearers without actually assuming any position. He was in fact was himself was a mobile association even before Jamaat was formed and still serving the community at large.
During the meeting of the executive in Ramadan it was just an usual query from Mr. Ilyas Mohiddin Siddiqa if the Jamaat intends to give any Lifetime Achievement. The whole executive said in unison that it should be conferred upon Abubaker Bhao.
Besides the duties of Jamaat he ensures that the letters received from family members reach the community members residing in far flung areas. His knowledge of current affairs and history will match few parallels within the community.
Dr. Najeeb presented a memento and a shawl to this walking encyclopedia for his matchless service to the community during the recent Eid MIlan held at Lailaty Hall Dammam.
BMJ Eastern province deserves all praises for honoring this unsung hero. Bhatkallys wish wish Abubaker bhao good health so that he can serve the community in the coming years.
