BJP's candidate for last Uttara Kannada constituency announced; Dinakara Shetty to contest from Kumta

Kumta 20 April 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bharitiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday April 20 announced its list of another 59 candidates who will contest the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections that is scheduled for May 12 across the state. Candidate for Kumta constituency, the only constituency where the candidate from party was not announced was also listed in Friday's list issued by the BJP Central Committe. Dinakara Shetty, the former JD(s) MLA will contest the election on the party ticket. The announcement also brings down the fight for the ticket between veteran local party leaders like Yashodar Naik, Suraj Naik Soni, Subrayya Walke. Dinakara has contested three assembly elections and has won one from JD(s) ticket in 2008, he later joined BJP in February 2017. Other candidates of BJP from constituencies of Uttara Kannada district include Sunil Naik (Bhatkal) Rupali Naik (Karwar), Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri (Sirsi), Sunil Hegde (Haliyal), VS Patil (Yellapur).
