Asserting that the BJP will not come to power in Karnataka in the coming assembly elections, actor and activist Prakash Raj has said that south India will lead in removing the party from the power at the centre in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Interacting with presspersons here on Thursday, he categorically asserted that he was not asking people whom to vote but was saying openly not to vote for the BJP. To a question, he said that he would never propose for a BJP-free India. “ I will surely say make India free of communal ideologies of BJP.” Describing communalism as a cancer in India, he said that he considers communalism a vital issue to be addressed first rather than other issues such as corruption. “I do agree that we need corruption-free society but communalism is more dangerous to society and humanity,” he said. He also expressed anguish at the BJP national president Amit Shah likening Narendra Modi to a flood and opposition parties to animals. “Mr. Shah calls people fighting for justice animals standing together to avoid a Modi flood. If only animals are living here in Karnataka, then why are you coming here? Does he think that the people of Karnataka are cats and dogs who will drink milk by closing their eyes and wag a tail if a biscuit is thrown at them? Mr. Shah says that Mr. Modi is like flood. He must understand that a flood is never good for people as it only destroys and damage and so is Mr. Modi,” he said. On the demand for a separate Lingayat religion, the actor-tuned activist did not find anything wrong in seeking separate religion. He however said that one could question the timing. Source: The Hindu
