The incident took place, when a few party-men turned up at the event, to submit a memorandum to yeddyurappa, urging him to allot ticket to a new and young candidate this time instead of Ramesh Jigajinagi, while also shouting against the union minister.
Yeddyurappa accepted the memorandum on the occasion which irked the supporters of Jigajinagi, who assaulted two party workers Sharanu and Ainagouda Patil, resulting in clashes between the two groups.
