Bengaluru: Anil Menasinakai, a realtor from the city, has reportedly lost Rs 2.87 Crore kept in his friend’s house at 3rd block in Rajajinagar. Anil had unsuccessfully contested as BJP candidate from Gadag constituency and was defeated by Congress candidate H K Patil. Saroja Prabhu, sister of Anil's friend V J Hariprasad, has filed a complaint with Rajajinagar police station. In her complaint, she confirmed that Menasinakai had handed over Rs 2.87 Crore for the purpose of keeping it safely in her house, on April 19. When Menasinakai came back after the Assembly election in May, she said, the amount kept in the almirah, was found to have gone missing. The complainant has named some of the suspects as her relative Veena and people known to her, Nagaraj, Manju and Babu. Veena had visited her twice during this period, she said. 3 months' delay in filing complaint! The police in its investigation, found that the almirah had not been opened by force. Therefore they suspect the hand of people who are well-known to the family. The inordinate delay in filing the complaint has also surprised the police and are trying to find out why the family filed a complaint three months after the money went missing. Source: News Karnataka
