BJP Kisan Morcha meet HESCOM AEE, demand resolution to power issues

04th August 2014 | Rizwan Gangavaly | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal – In a bid to resolve power issues faced by farmers here, members of Bhatkal unit of BJP Kisan Morcha took out a rally today in Bhatkal and submitted a memorandum to Assistant Executive Engineer of HESCOM demanding resolution to the power issues faced by farmers here in the taluka. Outlining the many power-related issues in the taluka, the memorandum demanded reduction in load- shedding, replacement of non-functional transformers, replacement of old electricity poles and wires, and a dedicated lineman in farmer-dominated areas. The AEE, after going through the memorandum, has given assurance that the demands mentioned in it will be fulfilled. Notably, Agriculture is the biggest industry in India and plays a key role in the socio-economic growth of the country and significantly contributes to the domestic GDP of India. Currently the country holds the second position in agricultural production in the world. - ARF
