BJP, Congress candidates files nomination from Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency

Bhatkal 23 April 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Sunil Naik and MLA Mankal Vaidya on Monday filed their nominations from BJP and Congress respectively for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections from Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency here at the Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner's office. While sitting MLA preferred to file his nomination early in the morning without much public attention, Sunil Naik along with cabinet minister Anant Kumar Hegde and hundreds of party workers marched to the Assistant Commissioner's office from old bus stand. Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, MLA Mankal Vaidya said he has worked for the development of the constituency and has done maximum developmental work, while also expressing his disappointment over a few projects and developmental work that were left pending and hence sought support from the voters so as to complete those projects and further develop the constituency. Another independent candidate Rajesh Naik also filed his nomination from the constituency on Monday, making it five candidates so far with 24 April being the last day of filing nomination, candidates of parties like Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) and a few other independent candidates are expected to file their nomination on Tuesday, while no reports from JD(s) camp could confirm the party candidate or whether they will field the candidate from the constituency or not.
