Bike-truck collision kills couple in Sirsi

Sirsi 30 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A couple who were travelling on their bike at Okkal cross near Hulekal road of Sirsi were killed after a a truck collided with their bike on Tuesday 29 May.
The deceased have been identified as Chandrasekhar Hegde and Chandrakala Hegde, residents of Mavinhalli of Sirsi.
Sources say that the lorry driver while taking a turn at Hulekal road, came completely to the right side and crashed causing panic to the couple on bike resulting in the collision between two vehicles.
Chandrasekhar died on the spot while his wife Chandrakala succumbed to her injuries while on her way to the hospital.
The victim’s family decided to donate the eyes of the deceased to the needy as per the wish of couple.
The accused lorry driver fled away from the spot. However, a search operation for the accused has been launched.
A case has been registered at Sirsi Rural police Station.
