Bihar, Jharkhand and Punjab day organised at Jeddah consulate

Jeddah 2 November 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Consulate General of India, Jeddah in association with Saudi Indian Business Network organized Bihar, Jharkhand & Punjab day 2018 as part of Ministry of External Affairs’ State Facilitation Activities abroad in the Consulate General of India premises on 1 November 2018. Large number of people from Indian community & Saudi nationals participated in the celebrations.
Speaking on this occasion, the Consul General of India Shri Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh highlighted the objectives of organizing various State Days as part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ State Facilitation Activities Abroad. He said these events help in knowing more about each state, its culture, Tourism and investment opportunities.
He also said similar Events pertaining to the states of Andhra Pradesh, Goa, J&K, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are being planned in the coming weeks.
He reassured that, the Consulate will continue to extend all possible assistance to Saudi nationals in connecting them with the concerned authorities in India to facilitate their investments in India as well as to the Indian businessmen/companies to facilitate their business in the Western region of the Kingdom.
Mr. Mohd Shahid Alam, Deputy Consul General gave a brief about the Jharkhand State, Mr. Anand Kumar, Consul (Consular) spoke about the state of Bihar and and Mr. Yogesh Kumar Shukla, Consul (HOC) spoke about Punjab. Dr. Nurul Hassan, Consul (Commerce) gave a welcome speech and also a small brief about Jharkhand.
Mr. Mir Gazanfar Ali Zaki, General Secretary, Saudi Indian Business Network (SIBN) gave presentation about the investment opportunities in Bihar, Jharkhand and Punjab states.
On the sidelines of the event, video presentations on tourism and investment opportunities of the 3 states were also shown.
Mr. Satender Suman from Bihar Community sang few Songs and children from Punjabi community performed Gidda and Bhangra dance on Punjabi songs.
Event was concluded by a vote of thanks by Mr. Vijay Soni, Treasurer, SIBN.
