BIFA wins the BIFA 2011 Football Torunament

Bhatkal, 8th Jan, 2011 (Bhatkallys News): The organising team BIFA Blue took away the BIFA Football Cup 2011 by beating the Firdouse team by 2-0 in the finals today held at the YMSA ground. A goal was scores in each half of the play, one by Arfath and the other by Zeeshan.
Mr.Inayatulla Shabandri, TMC President gave the Winners trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 5000 to Maaviya Mohtisham, the Captain of the winning team. Moulana Ansar Khateeb, President Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation handed over the runner-up trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 3000 to Sawood, the captain of Firdouse.
Speaking on the occasion Inayatulla Shabandri applauded BIFA for bring back football in the youths of Bhatkal and for giving footbal coaching to children. Moulana Ansar Khateeb said that football is a very healthy sport and it gives results in a very short time, in contrast to cricket.
The play maker of the tournament was given to Arfath, the best goalie was given to Anas Askeri, both from BIFA and the lead scorer was given to Naveed of Firdouse.
The third place of the tournament was taken away by BIFA Red by beating the Royals by 1-0. Bifa Red were beaten by the Firdouse in the semi-finals in the penalty shoot out, whereas the Royals were beaten by the BIFA Blue by 1-0 in the extra times play when the usual 30-30 minutes play did not yield any results.
It is to be noted that a total of 16 teams participated in this tournaments with many new entrants like ANFA, Madeena, Takiya and Osmaniya. Two teams from out side Bhatkal took part, one from Shiroor and one from Murdeshwar. Last times participant Cosmos did not participate this time.
