Bhatkal’s reputed social worker Ekkeri Irshad passes away while travelling to Dubai

Bhatkal’s well-known social worker, Ekkeri Irshad, popularly known as Data Irshad, passed away while traveling to Dubai on Monday night. 

He was en route from Mangalore to meet his daughters in Dubai along with his wife when he suffered a heart attack mid-journey.  

Due to the medical emergency, the flight made an emergency landing in Oman, and Irshad was immediately rushed to a hospital. 

However, despite all efforts, he could not be saved, and he breathed his last there.  

His passing has saddened people of Bhatkal and those who knew him, as he was widely respected for his social work and contributions to the community.
