Bhatkal's first Hafiz-e-Quran, Moulana Iqbal Motiya Nadvi passes away

Bhatkal - 07 Feb, 2011: Bhatkal's first Hafiz-Quran, Janab Hafiz Mohammed Iqbal Motiya Nadvi (75) passed away today evening after prolonged illness. He breathed his last at his residence located at Madeena Colony, First Cross, Bhatkal. (Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon). His Namaz-e-Janazah was offered at Millia Masjid after Isha prayers and was laid to rest at Nawayath Colony graveyard. He was survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters. It may be noted that, he was Bhatkal's first Hafiz-Quran and first Nadvi Graduate (Fazil). After his studies, he served as a teacher at Jamia Islamia Bhatkal & Ratnagiri and later shifted to UAE.
