Bhatkallys.com visits forest officials; unregistered land issue discussed

Bhatkal 16 Nov 2017: A team of Bhatkallys Media Society visited Bhatkal Forest department office and met both former ACF and current ACF Nandeesh and Bal Chandra HC and discussed some of the major departmental issues with them.
Bhatkallys team led by Chairman of Bhatkallys Media Society Mohsin Shabandri, spoke about several departmental issues and other issues faced by locals in Bhatkal. The focus of the discussion was about the Attikaram plots in and around Bhatkal and how the Forest department is working to resolve the long pending issues.
Speaking about the Attikaram issue, former ACF of Bhatkal who is now posted in Honnavar, Nandeesh said, "There is a need to legalize the land if at all the people want to save it, and the legalizing of the land should be made from proper channels through government and merely protesting outside government offices will make no difference."
He further said, "Bhatkalli people need to learn and speak the basic regional language Kannada in order to better understand the departmental operations and avoid frauds by people who sell the forest land and dupe them, it is the root cause of all the problems people are facing here."
Balachandra HC, the ACF of Bhatkal speaking about the future plans of him for Bhatkal, said the department is planning to build an water amusement park on Sagar road, the work for which will begin soon."

Mohsin Shabandri further requested the ACF to avoid being harsh to people who are residing on a land for decades but are evacuated in a matter of minute by demolishing their property. Replying to this Nandeesh said, the department has no role to play in it, as the supreme court has become stringent and instructed the department to initiate actions against those residing on forest land.
Several ideas were exchanged between two parties including an request from the department to Bhatkallys.com to help them develop a proposed technology for the department.
Along with Mohsin Shabandri, Bhatkallys Media Society's editor Ismail Zaorez and Jali Patan Panchayath councilor Aftab Damudi were present.
The officials expressed their happiness upon meeting with the Bhatkallys Media team and assured of all the help by the department for the locals of Bhatkal.
