Bhatkalli student wins excellence award

Dubai - In a proud moment for Bhatkalli community in Dubai, five Bhatkalli students including three Bhatkalli women graduated in different specializations from the Manipal University in Dubai campus. The students were conferred with degrees following the successful competition of their undergraduate programs.

Muaz Shabandri S/O Mohsin Shabandri , a student of the media & communications program at the university was conferred with a special 'Outstanding Student' award for his contribution and all-round performance at the university level. The award comes in recognition of his efforts towards the development of the media department at the university.

Conferred by His Excellency Sanjay Verma - Consul General of India in the UAE, Muaz was selected from over 65 students in his batch. Sharing his thoughts after the felicitation, Muaz said, "I am honored to be served with the distinction of being one of the outstanding students in the university and this could only be made possible with the support of the excellent faculty and staff."

He also thanked his parents and friends for their continued support in his various academic and extra-curricular endeavors. Muaz has previously won the first place at the inter-collegiate drama festival held at Bits Pilani Dubai campus.

Other students graduating at the ceremony included Halima Awana D/O Karikal Hashim (B.A. in Fashion Design), Nazish D/O Abdullah Kobatte (B.A. in Interior Design) , Baseerat D/O Mohiddin Ruknuddin (B.Sc. in Biotechnology) and Peshmam Mohammed Zohaib. Muaz currently works as an education reporter at Khaleej Times and also serves on the editorial board for Bhatkallys news.
