Bhatkali youth drowns in Jali Sea

Bhatkal - 24 Aug 2012: Bhatkali youth identified as Moulvi Mohammed Ismail (35) s/o Abdul Rahim Ruknuddin drowned while swimming in the Jali Sea. According to the sources, a group of 15 people from Magdoom colony went for a picnic at Jali beach. In the evening 3 of them have decided to enter the Sea and while swimming they went deep into the sea. While returning back they exhausted completely and one of them, Moulvi Ismail Ruknuddin was suddenly swept away by a strong wave and disappeared in the waters. When this news was spread hundreds of people rushed to the beach and launched a massive search operation but the body was not traced till late night.

Moulvi Ismail was teaching at Madrasa Taleem wa Tarbiah in Magdoom Colony from last 4 years and he was also doing Imamat at Magdoomia Juma Masjid. He was survived by his wife and a daughter.

Bhatkal DySP Mr Mr Narayan along with his team visited the spot and assisted in the search operation. A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station.
