Bhatkal: YMSA triumphs Bukhari FC's football tournament at Shiroor

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Ismail Zaorez Bhatkal 22 Jan 2018:  Young Muslim Service Association (YMSA) Bhatkal on Sunday Jan 22 emerged winners of the Bukhari FC's football tournament that was organized at Shiroor. The team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and secured the first place in tournament. The team led by Skipper Kausain, played a total of five matches in the tournament and won all of the five matches to secure the first place. The tournament participated by 32 team from Bhatkal to Kundapur, was played overnight and in the morning next day. The tournament kicked off on Jan 21 evening and continued throughout the night and next morning. In the finals YMSA played against the organizer Bukhari FC and won by a comfortable margin on 3-0. Safi of YMSA who scored 6 goals in 5 matches was awarded the best striker of the tournament while Akeef was named best player of the tournament. The winning team bagged a cash prize of Rs. 15000/- along with a trophy. Meanwhile, the YMSA organized NGT Bhatkal trophy cricket tournament's final match was also played on the same day. Lion and Asadullah battled it out in a nail biting final match of the tournament and at the end of the day Asadullah with some disciplined batting display clinched the match in the final over of the game. Asjad Haider for his 80 runs unbeaten knock was declared player final, while Ikama Motiya bagged 'Player of the tournament' title. Team NSA Manki was awarded the fair-play award of the tournamet while three players Imran Lanka, Kasim of Asadullah and Ikrama Motiya were awarded the 'spirit of cricket' awards. The Purple and Orange caps were bagged by Ikrama Motiya and Rithesh of Asadullah respectively.
