Bhatkal: Venkatapur residents claims no develomental work in their ward for last ten years; submits memorandum to Patan Panchayath Chief Officer

Bhatkal 07 Dec 2017: Residents of Venkatapur, ward no. 1 of Jali Patan Panchayath on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the chief officer of Jali Patan Panchayath, complaining about the poor conditions of roads, unavailability of water and other basic amenities in their ward.
The residents complained about the irresponsible behavior of their ward's councilor Mangala Gonda, and alleged that he never visits the ward of entertain their complaints. They further alleged that the ward has not seen any developmental work for last ten years.
They also complained that the councilor had been using the funds in other areas and not their area, which is lacking proper roads and drinking water facilities for years now.
Confirming the same Aftab Damudi, member of standing committee of Jali Patan Panchayath, who was also present at the Panchayath office claimed that Mangala had been taking funds from the Panchayath regularly and has been sanctioned funds of over 90 lac rupees.
TMC Chief Officer accepted the memorandum and assured the residents of inspecting the ward along with Patan Panchayath President and also assured of solving the issue on priority.
