Bhatkal TMC election results announced

Bhatkal – The much anticipated results of Bhatkal TMC poll which was held on 7th March 213 are announced today. The details are as follows,

• Mukri Waheeda Basha defeated Seeta Naik by 147 votes.
• Lakshmi Gonda defeated Taimu Gonda by 75 votes.
• Abdullah Khateeb won by 52 votes.
• Manjamma Gonda won by 92 votes.
• Udaya Pai won by 76 votes.
• Dr Saleem won by 154 votes.
• Krishnananda Pai won by 255 votes.
• Netravati won by 21 votes.
• Krishna Mastappa defeated Tanzeem candidate, Khalil Shipai by 43 votes.

Out of 23 seats, independents won 20 followed by Congress 2 and JDS 1. The BJP failed to open its account. It may be noted that, 13 candidates have been elected un-opposed earlier without contesting the election. Bhatkallys News Service / Rizwan Gangavali
