Bhatkal: Three day Mari Habba festival concludes as thousands of devotees bid good bye to Mari idol

Bhatkal 9 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The traditional ‘Mari Habba’ of Bhatkal town came to a close with thousands of devotees rallied their way to the Karikal sea shore to disperse the idol of ‘Mari’ marking the end of the festival on Thursday 9 August here in Bhatkal.
Thousands of devotees visit Bhatkal temple during the three day festival and offers prayers amidst beefed up security traditionally. This year too security was beefed up across the town and a peace meeting with local NGOs was called by police department to maintain peace in the region during the festive season ahead of Maari Habba.
A rally was taken out from NH 66, which marched through Bunder Road, Maghdoom colony to Karikal sea shore where the idol was dispersed in the water marking the end of festival.
